The Martial Arts History of Dr. Angela Mailis

Hot News Flash!! Read her new book!

Angela is a regular at the 7 a.m. classes. She has more energy and drive any three other people you know. As well as an extremely demanding professional life, she raises a couple of teenagers, does Latin dancing, and is very much into strength training on the days she's not at the dojo. Thriving on about 3 hours sleep a day, she has a small tendency to overtrain. An iron will, unbending determination, a work ethic that would put the saints to shame, and a sense of humour have been the keys to her many successes in life and the martial arts are no exception.

Of her journey through the ranks, she writes:

The Beginning: "If old Ma can do it, we can!" December 1996.

Somewhere between my yellow and orange belts I got 2 broken ribs and a broken toe in the same day.

Effects of Tae Kwon Do on my figure: My friends thought I had ... liposuction! September 1997

No recollection of what happende between green and blue belt, except that my staff told me I don't have their respect anymore since I submit myself to self-abuse! Fall '97 to Spring '98

The grading for my red belt was memborable. I had to do the Bo form, Marvin tricked me into breaking 2 boards, my students from the office had come to watch me, I was the only higher belt to be graded. And my sons were screaming, "We can't believe you did it!!" July 1999

Coming close! Average age of the 'senior group' was 40 and the 'juniour group' was 11. Power belt
